Forgiveness has health benefits.

By forgiving and letting go of past hurts and resentments, you can be free to enjoy life more.

It can sometimes take a lot of courage and commitment to forgive. In many cases, forgiving somebody - or even ourselves can be difficult. It can take time and you may need some support to be able to forgive. A counsellor or a good friend can be very helpful.

Making the effort to forgive can be very worthwhile.

If you do not forgive, the resentment can cause disease and illness to be more likely to occur in your life. It can affect each of us both mentally and physically.

By forgiving, you will be doing not only yourself a favor. Your family, friends, and associates will be likely to enjoy you more.

Nearly everybody has been through at least some traumas in their lives. Some people continue to hold on to their resentment of the person who hurt them, and live a miserable life blaming that person for their life not being the way it could possibly have been. Others, some of whom have had even bigger traumas, have forgiven the person and got on with living their lives.

There are also many reported cases of diseases having healed, just by an act of forgiveness.
