I put my daughter at risk

She was 14 at the time.

In January 2001 she agreed to do the Landmark Forum program for young people.

However she later wanted to attend the Big Day Out event in Melbourne to see Limp Bizkit, one of her favourite bands instead.

I wanted her to do what she had agreed to so I asked her if she would attend the Big Day Out on the Gold Coast instead of Melbourne. If she did that she could see Limp Bizkit and also do the Landmark Forum for young people.

She agreed so her mother and I made arrangements for her to travel to a friend’s place in Brisbane and attend the Big Day Out at the Gold Coast.

She ended up at the bottom of the mosh pit during Limp Bizkit’s performance. It was a frightening experience for her however yet she did survive.

A few days later in Sydney, another teenager, Jessica Michalik ended up at the bottom of the mosh pit during Limp Bizkit’s performance at the Big Day Out. Jessica did not survive.

So Limp Bizkit did not perform at the Big Day Out a few days later in Melbourne.
